Username reservations
Your name, the rules around it, and how to keep track of your reservation.
Choose a valid username#
Names are 3–20 characters long. Use English letters, numbers and underscores, and begin with a letter. Spaces, dots, hyphens, emoji and other alphabets are not supported. The @ symbol is displayed by the interface; you do not need to type it.
catno_thoughtsbruh123ab123bruhmy.nameNames are stored in lowercase. SleepyCat and sleepycat refer to the same username. Some names are reserved for service and support functions, so a correctly formatted name may still be unavailable.
Reserve, step by step#
- Enter your name on the home page. Wait for the availability result.
- Select Claim your name and choose an installed wallet.
- Approve the wallet connection, then read and sign the bruh sign-in message.
- Once connected, select Reserve username to confirm the name.
- Wait for the confirmation showing your reserved @username.
An availability result is not a hold. If two people try to claim a name, the first successful reservation wins. Connecting or signing alone does not reserve anything.
One wallet, one name#
Each wallet can hold one reservation. The same username cannot be assigned to a second wallet. If you return with a wallet that already has a reservation, the page will show the saved name.
The reservation is a record with bruh, not a blockchain asset. It is not an NFT, does not appear in your token balance and cannot be traded or transferred through a wallet.
Change or release a name#
To choose a different name, sign in with the original wallet and select Release username. Read the confirmation carefully: releasing deletes the reservation and makes the name available to anyone.
You can then sign in and reserve an available name. There is no protected rename window or automatic transfer between wallets. Do not release a name expecting it to remain held for you.
Fair use and disputes#
Do not bulk-claim names with automation, impersonate someone or use a name to mislead people. Reservations associated with abuse or a substantiated rights complaint may be released under the reservation terms.
Contact [email protected] about a disputed name. Include the username and a clear explanation. Never include private keys or recovery phrases.
